The Star Wars Nursery

(I decided the only person who could explain the nursery and the thought behind it would be "Mr. Piss Legs" himself, my darling husband! As much as I wanted to edit things, I didn't. we will be writing www.firsttimemomanddad.com together so I guess now is as good a time as any to introduce him (crazy Australian) and his style ("Proper Queen's English," and it's spelling). Consider yourself warned...)

Howdy everyone! How's it Hanging?

Less than a week to go before the bubba pops out and the 'ole wife thought you may like a tour of the baby's room! As we were initially looking around for stuff, I was horrified by all the planes, trains, monkeys, tigers, sheep and other assorted shite that abounds and decided to spice it up a bit! Star Wars Styling!!!!

Of course the original plan was for a full vinyl wall mural, gloss white/black stormtrooper crib and matching rocking chair, ceiling full of vintage fighter craft, Death Star rug, fiber optics, lightsabres etc etc etc

However...lack of cash and mummys threat of violence if I painted anything and the result is a somewhat subdued affair. Nonetheless, a decent mix of fun and excitements for all involved.

ENJOY!

Waahhaayy Ladies! It's PULSAR the ultimate man of adventure! Jumping outta Darth Vaders Head!

Life size Master Yoda door protector.

Darth Vader alarm clock and a couple of his friends.
Awesome Hat Mr Vader! (thanks again Sarah)

Apparently the crib was off limits
BUT a few decals never hurt anyone huh?

Stickers and decals everywhere!

Yeah Biaaatches! That's an original 1981 ET animatronic hiding in the back there.

As you can see...
I had to tone it down to make the wife happy!
initially wanted a full wall mural
and multiple models flying about the starry ceiling
to keep the little-fella entertained!

Master Yoda baby-bottle holder!

Aussie or Yank?

Full Size C3PO "wife scarer"

Star wars lego Montage!

Imperial Diaper containment facility

Yep ladies...Micro snowspeeder!

Gonna make change-time heaps of fun!

April again, I have a few more surprises for him, but until we bring baby home I am not bringing out all of the washed bed linens, curtains, and clothes. The cat still jumps in the crib and lays on everything, it used to be his room.

I also love the fact that a few stickers have him excited about changing "nappies!" It's all about choosing your battles wisely. Parenthood here we come!

oh. ps. the two names Oliver & Finn while they are finalist, we still cannot agree on one or the other. Our poor son...

  2. LOVE IT!!!! Makes me wish we would have done a Star Wars theme... We even have a cat named Yoda... Tell Mr. Piss Legs that I love his style! Your little man is going to have so much fun in his room... I still have a pack of glow in the dark stars that I am hoping to put up somewhere in the nursery. We also have a Star Wars "Return of the Jedi" poster arriving shortly to hang by the changing table. Target has the cutest stuffed Yoda that I want to get for Baby B... that might have to happen this weekend :) Can't wait to hear what name you guys pick! Now I have to send my husband over to checkout the blog...
