NO I'm Not Drunk, I'm Pregnant

For some reason my baby has turned my internal temperature up so high it's possible to sweat in a deep freeze. It should then come as no surprise being pregnant during a heat wave is $#!T! I work for a magazine and each week have to take photos outside at multiple locations. Trust me its so far from glamorous and awesome I only mention it to explain why I was mistaken for a drunk.

After about 30 minutes walking outside in circles trying to find the specific products, sickness started knocking. I have gotten to the point where I know 9 times out of 10 I'm going to dry heave so I just go with it. I don't recommend this because I have actually thrown up on myself a few times, driving, watching TV and most recently at my clients.  It all started innocently with a dry heave then it turned projectile...

I live in the south and this particular client has some VERY southern guys to help me.  Mid projectile the guy comes over and says, "Damn Girl... You drunk?!" Yes, I got wasted before I drove over here.... "No, I'm sorry I'm pregnant." Clearly this guy has no children because he kept staring at me waiting for a better reason for puking on the job. Once I stopped I had to explain  that I guess I got overheated and sickness is part of pregnancy.  Needless to say I will NEVER let myself get that hot again.

Seriously being pregnant in the summer SUCKS!  If you can help it, get pregnant in September and then by June you are golden! Plus, pregnancy can get you out of dysfunctional family events over the holidays... Which I personally plan to take full advantage of!

  1. Poor thing. I have a family event this weekend and it's outside. Double whammy. There is a lake, hopefully it's cold, that's where I'll be. Also not looking forward to the 4+ car ride one way and having to get out every hour to stretch my legs, or the one room sleeping conditions and bathroom with just a curtain around it.
